Utilizing Body Geometry, biomimicry, data science, and craftsmanship, Specialized has designed a shoe built so accurately that you'll forget you're wearing it. Leveraging data science, Specialized has refined every detail of the S-Works Torch upper for a better fit and unmatched performance. The BOA® cable is positioned lower and angled, preventing forefoot lift. This evolution eliminates the need for a Velcro strap, while providing a structure that enhances power and eliminates unwanted pressure or pinching. Adaptive materials allow for the natural movement of the foot where needed for greater comfort, while zonal reinforcement based on collected data keeps the foot wrapped for sharp power output and optimal efficiency. Guided by over 100,000 foot scans from RETÜL data, Specialized recognized that both a standard and a wide sole would be suitable to best meet the full spectrum of human foot shapes. An internal reinforcement adds stiffness and durability. The result is a weight reduction of 20 grams, increased efficiency, and immediate power transfer. Still based on RETÜL data, it was assessed that more space was needed to accommodate the Achilles tendon to increase comfort. The problem was solved by creating an asymmetrical heel seat that offered more space while maintaining a great connection. It was then verified to maintain optimal knee alignment and increased comfort. The S-Works Torch has been scientifically crafted to disappear on your feet.
