The Specialized S-Works Torch represents the latest evolution in the field of the most successful footwear in cycling. Using Body Geometry, biomimicry, data science, and craftsmanship, Specialized has designed a shoe built so precisely that you'll forget you're wearing it. Leveraging data science, Specialized has refined every detail of the S-Works Torch upper for a better fit and unmatched performance. The BOA® cable is moved down and angled, preventing forefoot lift. This evolution eliminates the need for a Velcro strap while providing a structure that enhances power and eliminates unwanted pressure or pinching. Adaptive materials allow for the natural movement of the foot where necessary for greater comfort, while zonal reinforcement based on collected data keeps the foot wrapped for sharp power output and optimal efficiency. Driven by over 100,000 foot scans from RETÜL data, Specialized recognized that both a standard and a wide sole would be suitable to best accommodate the full spectrum of human foot shapes. An internal reinforcement adds stiffness and durability. The result is a weight reduction of 20 grams, increased efficiency, and immediate power transfer. Also based on RETÜL data, it was assessed that more space was needed to accommodate the Achilles tendon in order to enhance comfort. The issue was resolved by creating an asymmetric heel cup that offered more space while maintaining a great connection. This was then verified to maintain optimal knee alignment and greater comfort. The S-Works Torch has been scientifically designed to disappear on your feet.
