The new S5 builds on this legacy of speed and design to evolve into something even faster, more refined, and distinctive, reducing weight to become an even more powerful ally in the hands of the world’s fastest athletes. The new S5 is over 6 watts faster than the current version, 124 grams lighter while ensuring the same handling, responsiveness, and stability that cyclists around the world already appreciate in its predecessor. The most significant changes concern the front end, which delivers the most substantial aerodynamic performance gains. The fork blades and head tube have become more pronounced, while the handlebar and stem are now a single redesigned piece, continuing the V-stem concept but with an even more aerodynamic and faster solution.
Cervélo and Reserve have jointly developed the new Reserve 57|64 Turbulent Aero wheels, designed and wind tunnel tested together with the bicycle frame and optimized specifically for use with the new S5. The monobloc handlebar and stem of the new S5 contribute significantly to improving the bike’s aerodynamic performance, but these improvements are limited if the rider is not fully comfortable with the bike. We have created nine different size combinations of the new integrated handlebar, and when purchasing an S5, your authorized Cervélo dealer will assist you in selecting the handlebar/stem combination best suited to you, at no additional cost.
