The Specialized Roubaix SL8 bike with Future Shock 3.0, is lighter, faster and more comfortable than any other road bike. Regardless of riding position, every rider can take advantage of 20mm of friction-free travel between the stem and head tube. Hands on the handlebars remain steady, assciuring a smoother ride with more control to be faster, safer and more confident. The low clamp design exposes a larger portion of the seatpost to increase its flex. The Pavé seatpost 'controls' this movement for optimal vibration absorption in the vertical plane. These two things together form the 'AfterShock' technology, and in combination with the Roubaix's rigid rear carriage, they create a smooth ride without compromising efficiency. The Roubaix SL8 is the Ride Science Team's most comfortable road bike ever tested - it reduces handlebar impacts by 53 percent compared to other bikes in this category. With the Future Shock 3.0 cartridge, the wheel flies over the obstacle while the rider remains stable and maintains the trajectory on uneven ground. Normally, the fork flexes backward on impact, causing a loss of speed. Scientifically, more comfortable means faster. The Roubaix pioneered endurance geometry, giving you the feeling of pedaling 'in' the bike, not 'on' the bike. So the pressure on your hands, shoulders and arms decreases, giving you capability and confidence on any road. With tire clearance up to 38c/40mm this endurance road bike provides exceptional traction on rough roads or gravel. Thanks to Specialized's light and efficient tires, this increased section has no disadvantages. The Roubaix makes you want to spend long days in the saddle, so Specialized thought to equip it with everything you might need for biking adventures-three bottle cage attachments, bag attachment on the 'horizontal and provision for possible fenders. All you have to do is ride! The new Roubaix SL8 is the most aerodynamic in its class, with new tube profiles generated by our Free Foil library and with lowered rear chainstays.
