Mavic Cosmic SLR 45 Disc Wheels: aerodynamic performance and lightweight design
The Mavic Cosmic SLR 45 wheels represent excellence in the high-performance road wheel segment, thanks to the combination of UD carbon and Mavic proprietary technologies. With a total weight of just 1480 g, the 50 mm rim depth ensures optimized aerodynamics and stability in all riding conditions. The 23 mm internal width supports 622x23TC tires with a maximum pressure of 5.5 bar, allowing a versatile setup for road and cycling routes. Aerodynamic spokes and Center Lock disc braking complete a design created for demanding cyclists who refuse to compromise between weight and stiffness.
Mavic Ceramic technology and Instant Drive 360 system
The core of these wheels' technology lies in the ceramic bearings paired with the Instant Drive 360 Ratchet freehub system with 40 teeth and a 9° engagement angle. The self-adjusting QRM bearings ensure a sealed cartridge that minimizes friction and maximizes power transfer efficiency. Low-density grease and ultra-low-friction seals ensure smooth rotation and consistent performance over time. Compatible with Shimano HG and Sram XD cassettes, these wheels adapt to any modern drivetrain configuration, offering a customized setup for every riding need.
FORE construction and tubeless setup
Mavic FORE technology creates a direct and precise connection between rim and spokes through direct threading with the optimal angle, eliminating unwanted movement and improving structural stiffness. The Adaptive Layup structure places carbon reinforcements strategically to maximize the strength-to-weight ratio. The un-drilled upper flange makes the system perfectly airtight for tubeless ready installation, speeding up installation and maintenance operations. The aluminum axles (12x100 front and 12x142 rear) can be converted to quick release with optional adapters, offering maximum compatibility with any type of fork or frame.
