Patagonia R1 Air Jacket: technical performance and lightweight warmth for mountain cycling
The R1 Air Jacket is an innovative technical fleece made from 100% recycled polyester with hollow-core yarns that ensure optimal moisture-wicking. The fabric’s jacquard construction delivers the perfect balance of warmth and breathability, ideal for tackling cold temperatures during outdoor and cycling activities. The ergonomic design with a full-length zip allows for quick body-temperature regulation and makes it easy to wear over other layers. Produced in a Fair Trade Certified™ factory, this jacket combines technical performance with social responsibility toward workers.
The zigzag construction significantly reduces the garment’s bulk while maintaining high packability, a crucial aspect for mountain cycling with demanding storage needs. Offset shoulder seams eliminate chafing from backpacks, while the cuffs and hem feature quick-drying stitched edges for durability and improved fit. The slim fit is designed for dynamic activity in cold weather, delivering comfort without excess bulk during intense rides or technical hikes.
Equipped with three functional pockets, the jacket offers uncompromising practicality: one zippered chest pocket and two front pockets provide space for essentials while keeping overall volume low. At just 340 grams, this piece is a lightweight and highly breathable solution ideal for layering in mountain biking and trekking. Its sustainable composition and construction details make it a reliable choice for cycling and outdoor enthusiasts looking for technical performance and reliability.
