Maxxis Minion DHR II 3C MaxxTerra DH TR tire - 27.5 x 2.50wt - Black

The high grip and immense braking power characterize the second generation of Minion DHR, making it the ideal tire for aggressive Gravity riding. This versatile folding tire owes these properties, not least, to the optimized tread design. While the supported side knobs ensure optimal lateral grip, the transverse central knobs, some of which are paddle-shaped, provide maximum control and traction during braking. The central teeth are also chamfered to improve acceleration. Strategically placed cuts further enhance steering behavior. Moreover, the Minion DHR II performs excellently not only as a rear tire but also as a front tire.

Triple Compound (3C) | The most important component of the tire is the rubber compound of the tread. Maxxis's 3C compounds, designed for mountain bikes, use a harder base compound and two progressively softer compounds to ensure optimal handling in their respective application areas. The side knobs are always softer than the central ones. Different compounds are used for each application area, individually optimized.

• 3C MaxxTerra | The MaxxTerra rubber compound represents the "golden mean" among Maxxis's Triple Compound (3C) compositions. Compared to the MaxxGrip compound for Downhill, MaxxTerra not only impresses with lower rolling resistance uphill but also with greater durability. Compared to the MaxxSpeed compound, specific for XC, the Enduro-compatible composition offers greater grip and traction.
  
• DownHill Casing (DH) | This is the look of winners! Maxxis tires with DH Casing are successfully used by professional Downhill riders with the same construction. The base consists of dual carcass plies with 60 TPI each and butyl inserts in the sidewall above the tire bead.
  
• Tubeless Ready (TR) | Tubeless tires offer numerous advantages. Riding at lower air pressure improves traction, and rolling resistance is also lower compared to inner tubes. Additionally, the risk of punctures is significantly reduced by using a sealant instead of an inner tube, as small holes are immediately sealed.
  
• Wide Trail (WT) | Traditional tires were developed for narrow rims, resulting in too steep an angle on wide rims and no longer offering optimal performance. In contrast, Maxxis's Wide Trail design is based on a tread arrangement and tire shape adapted to modern rims. WT tires are optimized for 30 mm rims but also demonstrate their advantages perfectly with an internal rim width up to 39 mm.
