Its rim has a slightly more bulbous design than its predecessor, with an external width of 32mm, an internal width of 25mm and a rim depth of 40mm. The profile offers reduced drag and a better transition between rim and tire, increasing aerodynamic efficiency on the road. The wide rim position also features less tire deflection for reduced rolling resistance. The combination of the wider tire, increased tire volume and lower tire pressure helps reduce rider fatigue by smoothing the ride on imperfect pavement and road conditions: the tire and wheel system absorbs vibrations, not the pilot.
